Training of female athletes is so new

that the limits of female possibility are still unknown.”

Invictus Sports Training

Basketball skills are only as effective as a player’s ability to combine them with agility, speed, and strength.

Invictus Sports training program has adapted the intense, focused training techniques of elite athletes for younger players, enhancing these traits to make your athletes into better basketball players and champions.

Conducted outside of traditional practice, players focus on developing the muscle strength and motion memory which allow them to be more agile and react quicker. Players also develop a stronger core and improved stamina. Invictus Sports training helps translate this new agility, strength and speed to the 360-degree movements that are essential in basketball and make the players a competitive force on the court.

The Indiana Explosion and Invictus Sports Training

Many of you will remember agility training with Christopher Hendrix-Buxton last season. Due to the success we experienced as a result of his training sessions, we have decided to include this opportunity for all of our teams. Chris has founded Invictus Sports Training to deliver this training.

These one-hour training sessions are in conjunction with the regularly scheduled practices and are held in the same location.

The cost per player is $10 per session for teams in the Indianapolis and surrounding metro area and has already been collected for the first month of practice. Beginning February/March 2010, these fees will be payable directly to Invictus Sports through their website. Visit www.InvictusSportsOnline.com to set up an account for your player.

The Invictus Training Sessions

The Invictus Sports training program revolves around core knowledge of the developing body and how it moves – then adapts and refines that knowledge to develop sport-specific agility and strength drills. Although not designed to improve specific skills (such as shooting free throws), the drills enhance and strengthen sports-related movements and techniques. Skill requirements for specific sports are incorporated into tailored drills that assist the player’s individual improvement as a member of a team sport.

Areas of Training:
  • Motion- and muscle-specific warm up techniques
  • 360° speed and agility
  • Reaction time
  • Muscle memory and speed
